		Name	Ref: RV04663 Created: 03/02/2012 BOEING E - 4B AIRBORNE COMMAND POST Description: The E-4B is a military version of the Boeing 747-200. It serves with the USAF as an Airborne Command Post in crisis areas. Operating as a National Airborne Operations Centre the E-4B ensures continuous Command and Control for the U.S. Government in times of war or major natural disasters, should land-based communications systems fail. In this role the aircraft provides a modern, well equipped command, control and communications centre with excellent survival characteristics. The main deck is divided into six operating areas. It can accommodate up to 114 personnel. The E-4B is fitted with defensive equipment to counter EMP (Electro-Magnetic Pulse) which is emitted during nuclear explosions. The aircraft’s "Time on Task" can be extended up to three days with the use of air-to-air refuelling. Of the four aircraft of this type, one is constantly at the "Combat Ready" state. 		Name	Ref: RV04673 Created: 06/24/2011 TUPOLEV Tu - 95 "BEAR" Description: Developed initially as a Strategic Long-Range Bomber, the Tu-95 was one of the most unique military aircraft. The Tu-95RTs (NATO designation "Bear" D) variant was developed for the Soviet Navy between 1959 and 1962 for use in the roles of electronic reconnaissance and target tracking of aircraft, surface ships and submarines. Mass production began in 1963 and from 1966 onwards the aircraft - in co-operation with Soviet submarines - were an integral part of the Navy’s Inter-Continental Missile Attack System. Regular flights over the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans enabled an almost continuous surveillance and tracking of NATO Maritime Units as well as the ships of other Navy’s. For over three decades the Tu-95RTs was an Icon of the "Cold War" due to its frequent presence within the vicinity of NATO Maritime Units.
