Description: This was actually the third Navy Cruiser to bear the name Chicago and was built to replace her namesake which had been sunk in the Pacific in WW ll. She was constructed with the support of a war bond drive conducted by the people of the city of Chicago. In 1964 she was completely converted to carry guided missiles, radar, an ASROC fire control system and a crew of 1,000 men. Detailed one piece hull and display stand. Description: After the World War Two, this former US Navy hospital ship received the name S.S. Hope. Financed by US Industry and private donors. Her main mission was to provide emergency medical and auxiliary personnel. Among other places, she travelled to Jakarta and Saïgon. The S.S. Hope was retired from service in 1974. LIMITED EDITION
